Input AI Chrome Extension
Input AI ("the extension", "we", "our") is a Chrome extension that improves text in any browser input field using AI. You supply your own API key for your chosen AI provider; the extension sends your text to that provider and returns the improved result. We operate no backend servers, collect no analytics, and store nothing about you.

When you trigger an action (rephrase, fix grammar, translate, etc.), the extension sends the text you selected — and nothing else — to the API endpoint of the AI provider you configured. The improved text is returned and displayed to you. The extension does not retain a copy; once the popover is dismissed the text is gone.
Your text is governed by the privacy policy of the AI provider you chose:
Only the provider matching your currently selected model is ever contacted. If you have not selected a model from a given provider, no data is sent to that provider.
storageUsed exclusively to persist your API keys, selected model, default tone, and saved custom prompt instructions across browser sessions. No text content is ever written to storage.
api.anthropic.com, api.x.ai, openrouter.aiRequired to make HTTPS API calls to your chosen AI provider from the background service worker. Content scripts cannot make cross-origin requests directly; routing through the background worker is mandatory in Manifest V3. Only the host matching your selected model receives any data.
The extension operates no servers and retains no data beyond what is stored in your own Chrome profile (API keys, settings, custom prompts). You can delete this data at any time:
